    "Making Myanmar Food Known"

Yangon Food Tours started with Shanna a girl from America living in Yangon, Myanmar. Most of the expats who she met that had traveled to Myanmar all left Myanmar with a distaste for Myanmar food. She had fallen in love with Myanmar food and wanted her friends to know that Myanmar food was delicious! Why was this? They hadn't eaten in places with the best food. If you are unlucky, you can end of up at a beer stall that sells bad Chinese food. So, Shanna started a food tour with a listing on TripAdvisor, and tested different shops with her friends. Finally, she found enough shops with delicious Myanmar food to create a tour that satisfied the biggest skeptic.

In the middle of 2016, her time in Myanmar was coming to an end. She started looking for someone to take over the food tour. She connected with Ryan and Mary through a mutual friend. Timing was good as Ryan and Mary had just finished another venture, they were a part of and were looking for their next venture. Wanting to carry on the desire to serve many visitors with good and delicious food, Ryan and Mary decided that it would be a good business to carry on. Myanmar food is not as well-known as other Asian countries food such as Thai, Vietnamese, Indian or Chinese.

Ryan and Mary wanted to make Myanmar food known. The diversity of indigenous cultures with their food interwoven into the daily lives of this multi-climate country. The goal is to see Myanmar food seen in the same way as other Asian foods globally. To make the food known worldwide. Touching Myanmar's borders are India, China, and Thailand which gives Myanmar it's unique flavor to its food but also its familiarity.
Now under Ryan and Mary's management, they have added more tour options for you to spend your day in Yangon, like the Social Business Food Tours, Yangon After Dark tour and Bamboo Bicycle Tours.
